State Minister for Law Qamrul Islam yesterday said nothing against the Quran and Sunnah has been incorporated in the National Women Development Policy. Some vested quarters have been misguiding the people on the policy for their petty personal gains, he told a discussion on the occasion the Independence Festival-2011 in the auditorium of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association in the city. Saarc Cultural Society organised the discussion. Industries Minister Dilip Barua addressed the discussion as the chief guest with cultural society President and former lawmaker Syed Abu Hossain Babla in the chair. Chairman of Bangladesh Minorities Youth Welfare Association Dibendra Ray Bhulu Babu and leaders of the cultural society, among others, spoke on the occasion. Qamrul said the vested quarters, who trade on religion for their own selfish interests, are trying to create instability in the country by calling hartal centering the women policy. He said the government along with the people of the country will resist them with an iron hand. Qamrul blamed the anti-liberation forces of creating conspiracy by raising different issues to stall trial of the war crimes.
