Drugs worth Tk 23 lakh seized
Contraband medicine worth around Tk 23 lakh from three pieces of luggage were seized at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city yesterday.
Members of Armed Police Battalion also caught one Saidul who went inside the airport to receive the luggage and handed him to Airport Police Station.
In preliminary questioning, Saidul said two passengers, Jahangir and Sohel, landing from a Gulf Air flight from Bahrain, were carrying the luggage. Sensing presence of law enforcers, they abandoned the luggage, which later Saidul tried to receive.
