Women Policy

BNP stance not yet finalised

The main opposition BNP is still undecided about extending its support to Monday's countrywide hartal called by Islamic Law Implementation Committee (ILIC) to protest the National Women Development Policy 2011. “It's their [implementation committee] own programme. BNP has no comment in this regard. But the standing committee will discuss the women policy to finalise the party's stance on it,” said Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, senior joint secretary general of BNP. He was talking to the press after a joint meeting of party leaders at the party's central office in Nayapaltan.
