ACC approves 21 charge sheets
The Anti-Corruption Commission approved charge sheets of 21 graft cases accusing 40 people including government and non-government employees in March.
The watchdog body also gave approval to four graft cases accusing seven people of embezzlement of money, earnings through illegal means and abuse of power.
The accused include are former Civil Surgeon of Rangpur Dr M Abdul Mannan, caretaker of Public Health and Engineering Department Eng Kazi Rezaullah, former technical trainer of Social Welfare Office of Pirganj- Thakurgaon M Hamidul Islam and Jharna Kabir of South Jatrabari, according to the ACC.
Dr M Abdul Mannan was accused of embezzling about Tk 1.8 crore while procuring MSR equipment while Eng Kazi Rezaullah charged with earning about Tk 69.39 lakh through illegal means.
Meanwhile, the ACC approved the final reports of six cases in which 19 people including public and private employees were acquitted of the corruption charges.
