CUTA leaders' resignation demanded

CU Correspondent
Progotishil Shikshak Samaj, an association of progressive minded teachers of Chittagong University (CU), yesterday demanded resignation of the leaders of CU Teachers Association (CUTA). In a statement they accused the CUTA leaders of remaining quite inactive in different national crises like arrest and trial of university teachers and the two national leaders as well. The incumbent CUTA leaders are delaying the general meeting on the plea of 'emergency act' during which other institutions and organisations including those in Dhaka University are holding programmes like meeting, silent procession and human chain, read the statement signed by Prof Helal Uddin Nizami, coordinator of the association. Shikshak Samaj leaders also demanded holding of general meeting and steps for executive committee election.
