Bidyut Kar
Bidyut Kar, a playwright and cultural personality, passed away at his residence at the city's Dariapara yesterday due to cardiac arrest at the age of 60, says a press release.
He left behind his wife, one son and one daughter.
His body was kept for hours at the Sylhet Central Shaheed Minar and Sylhet Radio, where cultural activists and people from all walks of life paid tributes.
Cremation of the body of Bidyut was held at the Chalibandar Cremation Ground in the city.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith and City Mayor Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran condoled his death.
