2 Indian Coast Guard ships on goodwill visit from Apr 24
Two Indian Coast Guard ships, Vajra and Raziya Sultana, will visit Chittagong for five days from April 24 on a goodwill visit.
According to High Commission of India in Dhaka, Vajra is an offshore patrol vessel, manufactured at Mazagoan dockyard in Mumbai and was commissioned on December 22 in 1988 and Raziya Sultana is a fast patrol vessel, manufactured at GRSE in Kolkatta and was commissioned on November 18 in 1992.
Both the ships are capable of performing anti-smuggling operations, search and rescue missions, control of marine pollution and protection of maritime environment, says a press release.
During the visit, the Indian Coast Guard personnel would interact with Bangladesh Coast Guard personnel and will also conduct joint training exercises with Bangladesh Coast Guard.
