'Amini misleads people to fulfil his ill motives'
Speakers at a human chain yesterday urged people not to be misled by Mufti Fajlul Hoque Amini, chairman of Islami Oikya Jote, who is trying to fulfill his “ill motives”.
Jatiya Mahila Sangstha, Chittagong district unit, organised the human chain in front of Chittagong Press Club (CPC) demanding immediate implementation of Women Development Act 2011.
Awami League lawmaker Begum Cheman Ara Tayeb, speaking as the chief guest, said if people fail to resist the Amini-led alliance, Bangladesh would become another anarchic state like Pakistan within ten years.
“Bangalee Muslims are pious and abide by Islamic directives, but we do not want Amini's Islam,” she said, adding that hopes of Amini and his alliance to “catch fish in troubled water” has already been foiled.
CPC President Abu Sufian, Prof Dr AQM Sirajul Islam, Chittagong district Public Prosecutor Advocate Abul Hashem, Journalist Shawkat Bangali, Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad leader Dr AMM Minhazur Rahman, Chittagong City Corporation Councillor Anjuman Ara Begum, Tapati Sengupta, Jannat Ara Manju and Advocate Basanti Prava Palit also spoke.
