Reach healthcare to doorsteps of people

Health minister asks doctors

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr AFM Ruhul Haque yesterday asked the doctors to take the leading role to reach healthcare facilities to the doorsteps of people. "Doctors have to go to the doorsteps of the poor people to build Sonar Bangla to fulfill the dream of the Father of the Nation", he told a discussion on 'War of Liberation and Mujibnagar Government' held in the city. Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad (SWACHIP) of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) unit organised the programme with unit convener Dr Debesh Chandra Talukdar in the chair. Awami League Health and Population Affairs Secretary Dr Badiuzzaman Bhuiyan, SHACHIP Secretary General Dr M Iqbal Arsenal and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University ENT Chairman Dr Abu Sufi Ahmed Amin also spoke. The minister said the government has already initiated some effective measures to make emergency health services available at the doorsteps of people. The measures include medicine supply, placing new equipment, recruitment of health providers in all government hospitals.
