Road crashes kill 3
Three people were killed and seven others injured in separate road accidents in Pabna and Sylhet on Wednesday and yesterday.
Our Pabna correspondent says: A young man was killed and four others were injured as two speedy motorbikes collided head-on at Chinakhora Bazar of Santhia upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased is identified as Md Shariful Islam, 25, son of Akkas Ali of village Harolpara of Atghoria upazila. The injured persons were admitted to Pabna General Hospital.
Witnesses said the accident took place when the two motorbikes collided head-on at Chinakhora Bazar while Shariful along with his father Akkas and sister Rossy were going to Dulai Bazar from Pabna by a motorcycle.
UNB from Sylhet adds: Two auto-rickshaw passengers were killed and three others injured as a truck collided head on with the three-wheeler at Khagail Bazar in Companyganj upazila yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Salai Mian, 35, son of Kala Mian of Dhalergaon village and Siddik Ahmed, 40, son of Makbul Ali of Noagaon village.
Police said a Bhelaganj-bound truck collided with the auto-rickshaw on Sylhet-Companyganj road leaving Siddik dead on the spot and four other auto-rickshaw passengers injured.
The injured were rushed to Sylhet Osmany Medical College Hospital where Sala Mian succumbed to his injuries
