Recovery of Buddha statues: 2 more held

Joint Forces yesterday arrested two more persons who were involved in stealing of 18 statues of Lord Buddha from the College Gate area in Khabangpuriya under Sadar upazila, police said. They are Prabarton Chakma of Panchhari under Khagrachhari, Anowar Hossen 24, of College Gate area in Khabangpuriya. Sub-inspector (SI) Mohammad Iqbal of Khagrachhari Sadar police station said the arrested were brought before a magistrate who sent them to jail. With their arrest, a total of four smugglers were arrested in connection with smuggling of statues of Lord Buddha.
