2,850kg OMS rice seized
Police during a drive recovered 2,850 kg of rice meant for open market sale (OMS) at a godown of Khaja Traders at Hospital Road in Companyganj town yesterday.
Khaja Abul Khair, Proprietor of Khaja Traders and president of Basurhat unit Jatiya Party (JP), is the owner of the godown which was put under lock and key after recovery of rice, packed in 57 sacks.
Being informed a team of Companyganj police station recovered the rice at 6:30pm. None was arrested in this regard.
