Road crashes kill 3
Three people were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in Sylhet and Narayanganj yesterday.
Staff correspondent from Sylhet reports: Two persons were killed and four others of a family injured in a head-on collision between an auto-rickshaw and a Sylhet-bound truck on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Olipur of Habiganj yesterday afternoon.
The deceased are identified as Abdul Haque, 42, auto-rickshaw driver and Nasima Khatun, 26.
The injured are Nasima's husband Sultan Miah, 35, daughter Nasrin, 8, son Hanif, 5 and Nasima's brother Shahed Miah. The injured are admitted to Habiganj Sadar Hospital.
Our Narayanganj correspondent says: A female garment worker was killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Narayanganj road in front of Jamuna Oil Company at Fatullh of Sadar upazila yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Jaheda Begum, 29, wife of Jakir Hossain of Dharmaganj of Fatullah and also a worker of Rupayan garments at Fatullah.
Witness said the accident occurred when a speedy truck run over Jaheda while she was crossing the road, leaving her dead on the spot.
