Bangabandhu declared independence as people's man

Ekatturer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee Chairman Shahriar Kabir at a meeting yesterday said only elected representatives of people hold the right to declare independence of a country.
While speaking as the chief guest, he also termed constitution of Bangladesh formed in 1972 one of the greatest in the world.
The meeting titled “The declaration of Independence by Bangabandhu, the constitution of Bangladesh and the spirit of Liberation War” was organised by the committee's Chittagong unit at Bangladesh Shishu Academy auditorium, Chittagong.
Shahriar said according to the constitution's Para 150, Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman declared Bangladesh's independence on March 26, 1971.
