'Help establish citizens' rights to information'
Citizens of all walks of life should come forward alongside Information Commission to establish right to information of the country's people, said Information Commissioner Prof Sadeka Halim.
She was speaking at the unveiling ceremony of a book titled “Practicing Right to Information: Practical Guidebook” at CIRDAP auditorium in the city on Saturday, says a press release.
Prof Sadeka said coming out of the long-lasting culture of secrecy and establish peoples right to information is a huge task and the information commission is working to establish it.
Columnist and researcher Syed Abul Maksud, Country Director of Article 19 Tahmina Rahman spoke at the programme, presided over by former adviser to a caretaker government ASM Shahjahan. Nagorik Udyog, a non-government organisation, published the book.
