Road crashes kill 4
Four people were killed and seven others injured in separate road accidents in Chittagong and Brahmanbaria yesterday.
Staff correspondent from Chittagong reports: At least two people were killed and four others injured in a road accident at Vellapara of Patiya upazila in the port city yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Mahfuzul Haque, 60, and his son Md Ridwan, 26, of Sibdari of Satkania upazila.
Police said the accident took place when a microbus coming from Shatkania lost its control and hit a truck standing beside the road at Vellapara crossing.
The injured were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital and Patiya Health Complex.
Our Brahmanbaria correspondent says: A father and his son were killed and three others injured in an accident on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Rajabaria Kandi village
of Sahabajpur union in Sarail upazia yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Md Jamal Mia, 35, and his son Md Akram, 6, of Rajabaria Kandi village.
Police said the accident occurred when a Sylhet-bound speeding truck lost control while its front wheel exploded and rammed a wayside teashop, leaving the two dead.
The injured were sent to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital.
