Newly appointed Peruvian Ambassador to Bangladesh Javier Paulinich, based in New Delhi, presented his credentials to President Zillur Rahman at Bangabhaban yesterday. Welcoming the new Ambassador, Zillur emphasised improving the bilateral relations with Peru, a South American country, through increasing trade and commercial activities between the two countries.
“Bangladesh is keen to improve bilateral relations with Peru,” he said, adding that Peru can import more Bangladeshi products including readymade garments (RMG), jute and jute goods, leather and leather goods, ceramics, and pharmaceuticals.
Paulinich told the president that Peru always supports Bangladesh in the international forum as active member of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and the Group-77. Zillur assured his all out support and cooperation to the new Peruvian ambassador in discharging his professional duties in Bangladesh.
The president, through the ambassador, conveyed his best wishes to the Peruvian president and also invited him to visit Bangladesh at his convenience.
