A Dhaka court yesterday said that the complainant must obtain the home ministry's clearance before filing a sedition case against Mufti Fazlul Haque Amini, president of a faction of Islami Oikya Jote (IOJ). The court asked complainant Maulana Ziaul Hasan to submit a sanction letter from the home ministry in this regard by May 19. Hafez Maulana Ziaul Hasan, president of pro-Awami League Islamic platform under the banner of Sammilito Islami Jote, filed the case against Amini on April 27. After scrutinising the case documents, Metropolitan Magistrate Harun-ur-Rashid observed that if anybody wanted to file a sedition case against any person, he or she must have to get an approval letter from the home ministry first. But the complainant did not submit any sanction order.
