Road crashes kill six
Six people were killed in separate road accidents in Dhaka, Manikganj and Tangail on Saturday and yesterday.
Staff correspondent reports: An employee of a private company was killed as an unknown vehicle hit his motorcycle from rear in front of Mirpur Bangla College at Mirpur in the city yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahim, 55, an employee of Libra Pharmaceuticals.
Locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead.
Our Manikganj correspondent adds: Three people including a UP member candidate were killed as a truck hit their motorcycle on Ghior-Daulatpur road at Changa Shimulia of Ghior upazila on Saturday evening.
The deceased were identified as Sanjoy Rajbongshi, a member candidate of ward no-1 of Nali Union Parishad of Ghior, his cousin Swapon Rajbogshi and motorcycle rider Kazim Uddin.
Sanjoy Rajbongshi died on the spot while motorcycle rider Kazimuddin died at Monno General Hospital and Swapon died at Manikganj Sadar Hospital.
Our Tangail correspondent says: Two people were killed in separate road accidents in the district.
A schoolboy was crushed under the wheels of a bus while he was crossing Tangail-Mymensingh road at Ghatail upazila on Saturday night.
The boy is identified as Al-Amin, a class V student of Oxford Kindergarten at Pakutia.
Protesting the accident fellow students blocked the road for one hour.
Meanwhile, A motorcyclist was killed when a North Bengal-bound goods-laden truck from Dhaka crushed the motorbike on Bangabandhu Bridge approach road at Sadar upazila yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Monir Hossain, 28, son of Abdul Baset, of Baje Makulla village of Gopalpur upazila and a medical representative of Globe Pharmaceuticals.
