Dinajpur SSC results improve

Secondary School Certificate (SSC) result of newly established Dinajpur Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board is better this year in comparison to previous two years while number of Grade Point Average (GPA)-5 achievers dropped. Around 77.48 percent students passed under this board, which was 71.70 in 2010 and 63.58 in 2009. Among those passing this year, 86.71 percent are from science group, 71.73 from humanities and 84.53 from business studies. Mentionable, SSC and HSC examination under this board began in 2009, consisting of eight northern districts. Of the 1,26,248 students registering this year, 1,24,248, including 61,996 female students, appeared. However, the number of GPA-5 achievers was only 5,485 this year, which was 6,634 in 2010 and 5,292 in 2009. Of them, 1,883 were female students which were 2,473 in 2010 and 1,849 in 2009. A total of 3,602 male students attained GPA-5 this year, while it was 4,161 in 2010 and 3,443 in 2009.
