Bodies of woman, her daughter rescued
The bodies of a woman and her daughter, who went missing in the Meghna River in a boat capsize on May 9, were rescued in Sarail upazila yesterday.
Deceased are Rupchand Akter, 28, and her daughter Sumiya Akter, 6, of Abdullahpur village under Mitaiman upazila of Kishoreganj.
On May 9, an engine-run boat with 56 tonnes (1,400 mounds) of paddy and 27 passengers overturned in the river near Tarakhula village under Sarail upazila, Brahmanbaria.
All 25 passengers except Rupchand and her daughter managed to save lives by swimming ashore.
Sarail upazila administration, after four days into the accident, recovered the bodies and handed them over to the family.
