Laptop at cheaper rate soon: Mahmud
Laptop computers are going to be much cheaper in a month or two as a state-owned company is set to produce the gadget at affordable prices.
State Minister for Environment and Forest Dr Hasan Mahmud yesterday told a workshop on Digital Bangladesh in the port city that the laptop's production would begin next month.
Addressing the workshop at Chittagong Circuit House conference room, Dr Mahmud said the locally made laptop would be available at around Tk 10,000.
Supported by United Nations' Development Programme, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and Access to Information (A2I) Programme of the Prime Minister's Office jointly organised the workshop.
Correspondents of national dailies, news agencies and electronic media in Chittagong division were made aware about the activities of Digital Bangladesh at the workshop.
