Classmates demand punishment of killers
Classmates of Himel Das Supam, an SSC GPA-5 achiever who was strangled by hired killers for property, demanded capital punishment and immediate arrest of all killers.
They formed a human chain in front of Chittagong Press Club yesterday and later brought out a procession.
Jisan Al Hasan, Supam's classmate from Chittagong Government School, said they want proper investigation into the killing so that it never happens to anyone else.
Terming the killing a heinous crime, Saibal Das, another classmate, said it is beyond their imagination that anyone could kill such an innocent and gentle boy like Supam.
Mentionable, arrested Mahmudul Islam, brother-in-law of Supam's friend Sohel; and Mahmudul's brother Nazrul Islam confessed that Sunil Das, cousin of Supam's late father; and Mizan, son of Dharmapur's chairman in Satkaniya; hired them for the abduction and killing.
Sagar, a hired killer; his brother-in-law Selim; and two criminals hired by Sagar strangulated Supam with a belt.
