Nanak urges for resisting anti liberation forces

State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Jahangir Kabir Nanak yesterday said the government has formulated the Women Development Policy to empower women, ensure their equal right and bring them into the mainstream of overall development. He said the womenfolk would have to come forward to resist the anti-liberation and undemocratic forces which are conspiring against the proposed women development policy. Nanak was speaking as chief guest at the Golden Jubilee celebration of Mohammadpur Kishalaya Girls School and College in the city. Director general of Education Directorate Prof M Noman-ur-Rashid, Awami League leaders M Sadek Khan, Habibur Rahman Mizan and ward councilor M Salim Ullah Salu also spoke at the function, chaired by college principal M Rahmat Ullah. Nanak said the government formulated the new national education policy 2010 to groom the new generation as enlightened citizens. “Education is the key to development and a principal weapon of poverty-alleviation.” He said the process of establishing 17 schools and colleges in the city is going on to cut pressure of admission on educational institutions.
