M A Mukid Talukdar, father of Mainul Alam, a special correspondent of the Daily Ittefaq, passed away due to old-age complications at a city hospital in the early hours of yesterday at the age of 82. Mukid, a former deputy director of Power Development Board (PDB), left behind his four sons and three daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death. He was laid to rest at his family graveyard at Sadra village under Hajiganj upazila of Chandpur district after namaz-e-janaza at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Zohr prayers.
