Indian woman trafficker held
A suspected women trafficker was arrested at Baruikhali in Dakop upazila during his abortive bid to seduce a housewife and traffic her to India on Friday.
The arrestee was identified as Kishore Bishwas, 30, son of Ruben Bishwas, an India citizen and resident of Sikria village in Nadia upazila of West Bengal state of India.
Police said Kishore Bishwas came to Khatail village in Dakop upazila recently.
He was captured by locals on his way to India with victim Rashida Begum, 20, wife of Zinnat Sardar, a resident of Baruikhali Asrayan Kendra (shelter home) at 10:00am on Friday.
Locals handed him over to Dakop police later.
Police said Kishore seduced Rashida and was taking her to India with fake promise of lucrative job there.
He is being interrogated by police.
