Rita's husband, three others charged
A Dhaka court yesterday framed charges against four people, including the husband for the death of Farzana Kabir Rita and her two children in Jurain last year.
Apart from Rashedul Kabir, the three other accused are his second wife Razia Sultana Smriti, brother-in-law Delwar Hossain Patwari and driver Al Amin.
Judge Md Mozzammel Hossain of Special Judge's Court-3 discharged Rashedul's parents Shafiqul Kabir and Noor Banu, sisters Kabita and Shukhon Kabir saying charges brought against them were not proved.
The court asked the complainant, Mazeda Begum, Farzana's mother, to appear before it on July 31 to give her statement.
Earlier that day, Rashedul and three other accused pleaded their innocence and demanded justice before the court after the charges were read out to them.
Farzana, her 12-year-old son Pabon and 10-year-old daughter Payel were found dead in their Jurain residence on June 11, 2010.
Prior to their death, the children wrote on the walls about the inhuman behaviour of their father, grandparents and aunts which drove them to commit suicide.
Farzana's mother Mazeda Begum filed a murder case with Kadamtoli Police Station accusing eight including Rashed for committing the gruesome killings.
Inspector Sheikh Mahbubur Rahman of Detective Branch of police, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet against the accused on August 11, 2010.
