Pro-AL cable operators clash
Two groups of pro-Awami League (AL) cable television providers clashed with firearms to establish dominance over the business in the port city yesterday.
One BCL activist Nurul Islam Suman, 25, of Bishaw colony was severely injured and rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Local AL leader Aslam Hossain of Firoj Shah Colony led one group while local BCL leader Nurul Islam Sujan of Bishaw Colony led another. Both were local agents of Karnaphuli Communication Limited, owned by Chittagong city Jubo League leader Farid Mahamud, said locals.
The clash ensued when one of Aslam's operators went to Bishshaw Colony to provide a connection around 1:00pm, they added.
