Teacher among 10 hurt in BCL attack at Polytechnic Institute
At least 10 students and a teacher of Cox's Bazar Polytechnic Institute were injured in an attack by a group of institute-unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists yesterday.
BCL men also ransacked the college principal's office in protest against the transfer of eight of their fellow activists to other polytechnic institutes.
Police and local said BCL men led-by Imtiazul Islam, joint secretary of BCL institute-unit, swooped on their teacher Jahangir Alam at about 11:30am.
When teachers and students came to Jahangir's aid, they also beat them up, they said.
On information, police rushed to the spot at about 12 noon and brought the situation under control.
