Bangladesh constitution one of the best in world
Speakers tell roundtable
Speakers at a roundtable yesterday said the liberation war of Bangladesh, the constitution of 1972 and the human rights are stringed together.
They made the remarks at a roundtable organised by Bangladesh Sammilito Peshajeebee Parishad at Chittagong Press Club while Vice-Chancellor of Premier University, Chittagong Prof Anupam Sen was in the chair.
Prof Anupam said peoples of the developed countries get dignity as a human being in the constitution.
He said before 1972, there was no human right for Bangalees and added that the war criminals killed innocent people brutally and deprived them from basic human right.
Terming the constitution of Bangladesh is one of the best constitutions in the world, Former president of Chittagong Bar Council Kabir Chowdhury said human rights are recognised in the constitution precisely.
Former president of Chittagong University Teachers Association Dr Iftekher Uddin Chowdhury, Advocate Kamrun Nahar Begum, Dr Sheikh Shafiul Azam, Abdul Haque Chowdhury, Abu Sufian and Eng Haurn spoke, among others, at the roundtable.
