Qulkhwani of Pilu Momtaz today
Qulkhwani of noted pop singer Pilu Momtaz, daughter of Ustad Momtaz Ali Khan, would be held at Baridhara DOHS mosque in the city after Maghrib prayers today. Ustad Momtaz Ali Khan Music Academy will also hold a qurankhwani and milad mahfil at the academy premises after Asr prayers, says a press release of the academy. Her family members expressed gratitude to all friends and well-wishers who expressed sympathy at her sudden death. Pilu Momtaz passed away following a cardiac arrest on Sunday at the age of 52. Right after Bangladesh's independence, Pilu Momtaz, along with her peers -- Azam Khan, Ferdous Wahid, Fakir Alamgir and Najma Zaman -- initiated “Bangla Pop” that attained mass popularity.
