Dhaka University Day on July 1
Dhaka University (DU) authorities will celebrate Dhaka University Day with due festivity on the campus on July 1.
The decision came at a meeting with Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique in the chair at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban yesterday.
A committee headed by Pro-VC Prof Harun-or-Rashid was also formed to host a series of colourful programmes.
The day, popularly known as “open day”, is being celebrated since 1983 to introduce an alternative culture for “rag day” and to mark the launching of DU on this day in 1921.
