3 die in road crashes
A minor boy was killed in road accident in Hakimpur upazila yesterday.
Police said Shohan Ahmed, 7, son of Aynul Islam of Patabuka village in Pachbibi upazila of Joypurhat was ran over by a bus at South Basudevpur village on Hakimpur-Joypurhat highway at noon.
UNB from Sirajganj adds: Two people were killed and six others injured when they were hit by a truck on Hatiqumrul-Bonpara highway in Tarash upazila yesterday.
Anis Hossain, 45, resident of the upazila, died on the spot at about 9:30am.
Angered by the accident, local people with a human hauler chased the truck.
Being chased by locals, the truck driver along with his vehicle tried to hurriedly flee away when the reckless truck again hit seven people, who were on a roadside in front of a rickshaw van stand, leaving them injured.
The injured were sent to Sadar Hospital but one of them, rickshaw van puller Abdul Alim, 23, died on the way.
