Two die in road crash
Two of three people riding on a motorcycle including a doctor were killed while the other was left injured in a road crash at Delduar upazila in Tangail district yesterday.
The deceased are Dr Mohammad Khalid Saifullah, 27, a medical officer of Jamurki Health Complex in Mirzapur upazila, and his friend Shafiqul Islam, 26.
Another rider Habibur Rahman was seriously injured and sent to Dhaka.
Officer-in-Charge Abu Bakar Siddique of Delduar Police Station said a passenger bus from Dhaka ran over the three riding on a motorcycle on Dhaka-Tangail Highway at Natiapara area around 2:30pm.
Of the three, going to Tangail town from Jamurki, Shafiqul died on the spot and Dr Khalid died on way to Tangail General Hospital, he added.
