The United States has carried out a series of attacks in northwest Pakistan since 2004 using drones or unmanned aerial vehicles. These strikes by UAV are operated remotely from Creech Air Force Base located in Nevada, USA. The attacks are part of the US “War on Terrorism” campaign, seeking to defeat Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants in Pakistan. The Brookings Institution of USA suggests that “drone missiles cause collateral damage and kill 10 or so civilians for every militant killed." US estimates 2,377 militants were killed by 244 drone attacks since 2004. By the above estimate 23,770 innocent elderly men, women and children lost their dear lives. So long most Americans observed this with indifference. The recent series of devastating tornados in the USA might have given them a small taste of how it feels when the lives of innocent citizens are lost for no fault of theirs.
