743 fertiliser sacks seized in Pabna, 3 arrested
Joint forces during a daylong drive recovered 743 sacks of fertiliser from different areas of Santhia and Bera upazilas in the district yesterday and arrested three traders for hoarding and selling fertiliser at high prices.
Joint force arrested Ali Akbar from Boailmari market in Santhia yesterday morning, During interrogation, Ali Akbar confessed that two truckloads of fertiliser were brought there from Chittagong recently.
Acting on his statement, joint force raided Bera C&B bus stand market and recovered 50 sacks of fertiliser from a shop owned by Sahin. Following their information, joint force later seized 693 sacks of fertilisers from a warehouse in the area.
Two other arrested traders are Sahinur Rahman and Samim Hossain. All the three were handed over to Santhia police, sources said.
