'Land grabber' sent to jail in Satkhira
An alleged land grabber and four others, arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Thursday with firearms were sent to jail yesterday.
Deputy assistant director (DAD) M Mofser Ali of Rab filed a case with Satkhira Sadar police station against the five under Section 19(A) of the Arms Act, police said.
The arrested are Bashir Ahmed, Samsul Huda and Mahbubur Rahman Murad, Milon Hossain and Laxmi Kant Gain.
Acting on tipped off, Rab raided a market at Itagachha and arrested them along with two US-made pistols.
Officer-in-Charge of Sadar police station Abdul Kader Beg confirmed the incident.
