46 tonnes urea seized, 4 held
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Monday night recovered 46 tonnes of Urea in Shailkupa upazila in Jhenidah and arrested four people for illegal hoarding of the fertiliser.
Tipped off, a Rab team seized a truckload of Urea fertiliser from in front of Jhenidah Cadet Collage and another truckload from Chariar Bazar, Captain Tanvir of Rab said.
Later, they launched another drive at Chariar Bazar and recovered 263 sacks of Urea from the go-down of Abdul Mannan and 257 sacks of Urea from the go-down of Shaheb Ali.
The arrestees -- Solaiman Hossain, Motiar Rahman, Shamim Ahmed and Kabir Uddin were being quizzed under Rab custody as of filing this report.
