RU students' rally foiled
The authorities of the Rajshahi University (RU) foiled a student rally of the university unit of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front on the university campus in the city yesterday.
Sources said SCF arranged the rally titled 'Against the Commercialisation of Higher Education' at the university Tukitaki Chattar around 11:00am.
Hearing the news of the rally, assistant proctor of the university Zannatul Ferdaous along with law enforcers went to the spot and asked the leaders and activists of the organisation to stop the programme immediately.
“SCF did not take any permission from the university authorities to hold the programme,” said the assistant proctor.
