Bail to Tarique extended
The High Court yesterday extended for six months its earlier orders granting bail to BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman in three criminal cases filed during the regime of military-backed caretaker government.
Of the cases, two were filed on charge of extorting money from a construction company and another for evading tax. Tarique is now in London for treatment.
A bench of Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah and Justice Naima Haider yesterday extended his bail following three separate prayers moved by his counsel Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon.
