BCL factions clash at RU
Two activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League were injured in a factional clash at Nawab Abdul Latif Hall at Rajshahi University (RU) over controlling seats of the hall on Monday night.
Residents of the hall said two BCL factions, one led by Abdus Salam loyal to its RU unit president Ahmed Ali and another led by Lutfor Rahman loyal to general secretary Abu Hossain Bipu started scuffle with sharp weapons around 2:00am.
Following the scuffle, Salam and Lutfor were injured and admitted to the university medical centre with stab injuries.
Resident students of the hall alleged that both the factions rented many seats to the non-resident students illegally driving out allotted students.
A panic situation was created among the resident students following the incident.
