Construction worker dies in fall

A construction worker died yesterday evening after he fell from an under-construction building at Mohammadpur in the city. The deceased was identified as Tomij Uddin, 35, son of Nosu Miah of Lalpur, Natore. Azizul Haq, site engineer of the building, told The Daily Star that Tomij fell down through the elevator duct from the eighth floor of the 10-storey building around 6:00pm. Haq and some construction workers rushed Tomij to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
