A permanent loss to nation
Ministers, different political and social organisations and eminent personalities yesterday expressed deep shock at the death of eminent filmmaker Tareque Masud and distinguished cinematographer and CEO of ATN News Mishuk Munier.
The nation has experienced an irreparable loss at their death, they said, adding that it is not possible to fill up the vacuum created through their departure.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a condolence message expressed profound shock at the death of Tareque Masud and Mishuk Munier.
In a statement, Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni said both of the deceased played pioneering role in social advancement and promoting culture.
Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad said the nation would recall their contribution with much respect.
Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Abdul Hamid, Deputy Speaker Shawkat Ali, Labour and Employment Minister Engr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain, Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) President Manjurul Ahasan Khan, Jatiya Party-JP Chairman Anwar Hossain Manju, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, Information Secretary Hedayetullah Al Mamun in separate statements also condoled the deaths.
Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI), Dhaka University Mass Communication and Journalism Alumni Association, Bangladesh Chhatra Union, Zaker Party, Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal, Samajtantrik Chhatra Front, Bangladesh Jubo Union, Amra Muktijoddhar Santan, Garments Sramik Oikya Forum, Kendrio Khelaghor Asar, Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital, Dhaka University Film Society, Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samannaya Parishad, Gonosanghati Andolon, Stamford Film Students Cine Forum, Bangladesh Federation of Film Society, Bangladesh Documentary Council, Bangabandhu Research Centre, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Literature and Cultural Council, and Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicle Importers and Dealers Association also expressed shock.
