Fake milk factory found in Chandpur
A fake milk factory was detected yesterday at Alur Bazar on the bank of the Meghna, 10 kilometres southwest of Chandpur town, said sources in Coast Guard.
Fake factory owner Hajee Md Abdur Rab,48, was also arrested.
Acting on a tip-off, Coast Guard team jointly led by Lt Commander Mahbubur Rahman Shikder and magistrate M Saiful Islam raided the factory from where adulterated milk was supplied by an organised gang to various markets in Chandpur. The team also seized 50 maunds of adulterated milk and chemicals from the spot.
It was learnt that a few more fake milk factories are in existence on the bank of the Meghna.
