Agitating people block road
Two people, including a minor boy, were killed in separate road accidents in Dhaka and Chapainawabganj yesterday.
Staff Correspondent reports: An expatriate to Dubai was killed as a speedy bus hit him on Russel Square at Dhanmondi in the city yesterday morning.
The deceased is Mohammad Sujon, 25, son of Abul Kalam, of Charfashion in Bhola.
Police said the accident took place when a Gabtoli-bound bus hit him while he was crossing the road around 7:00pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police said they could not identify the bus but locals said it was a bus of Saudia Paribahan.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent says: A boy was killed on the spot when a Rohonpur-bound speedy truck crushed him under its wheels while he was crossing the Chapainawabganj-Rohonpur road at Mallickpur of Nachole upazila in the district yesterday.
The deceased is Mohammad Shakil, 10, son of Rezaul Haque, of Mondomala village of Tanore upazila in Rajshahi.
Agitating locals blockaded the road for an hour following the accident.
