Criminals dope 5, rob Tk 2.30 lakh in city
Criminals doped five people and robbed them of Tk 2.30 lakh in total and their valuables at different points of the capital yesterday.
In the city's Sadarghat, Kazi Monir, 30, owner of Kazi Shoe shop at Nalchhiti in Jhalakathi district, employee of his shop Chand Miah, 52, and his friend Labu Miah, 30, were found unconscious in a launch around 5:30am.
They were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The victims at the hospital said they had sehri in the launch and after sometime they blacked out. A total of Tk 1.10 lakh was taken away from their possession.
At Sayedabad bus terminal, Babul Das, 30, a shoe trader at Sutrapur, was found unconscious in a bus around 6:00am.
Babul said he was coming from Comilla with Tk 50,000.
He, however, could not tell what made him unconscious.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Masud, 36, owner of a printing press at Fakirapool, was robbed of Tk 70,000 by making him unconscious in a bus. Passengers of the bus took him to DMCH.
Masud said he got on the bus from near his Moghbazar residence around 8:00am to go to Motijheel.
He could not tell when he fell unconscious and why.
