Where is our Anna Hazare?

Badal Hasib, English Teacher, Dhanmondi, Dhaka
Anna Hazare, the respected social activist and the latest household name in Indian media as well as outside world, is showing the whole world how to fight corruption by beginning a hunger strike that will not end until the government eliminates corruption. We salute his campaign and wish that we had one Anna Hazare in our country where corruption is devouring every public sector. How long will this shameless corruption continue where public's money is misused in an unethical way? Look at our Finance Minister, Communications Minister, Commerce Minister and other numerous ministers' insensible comments which are not only baffling the whole nation but also creating internal problem in the party where prominent leaders are criticizing their own party members in public. This is the time of exigency where we need a pure person like Anna Hazare to stand against all ill practices in the society and become role model for the next generations. At the moment in Bangladesh rather than strengthening anti-corruption systems, we are ruining the existing system.
