<i>Voters decline in Barisal city</i>

Election Commission officials yesterday started distribution of national identity cards with photo in Barisal City Corporation areas. A total of 1, 77,819 cards will be distributed and it will be completed within this month, EC officials said. Deputy Commissioner Manjur-e-Ilahi inaugurated the programme by distributing 150 cards among some gypsy people at Rasulpur slum on the bank of Kirtonkhola river. Deputy election commissioner Manirul Islam, Sadar upazila election officer Moniruzzaman, Lt. Col. Abu Sayeed Muhammad Ali, commander of joint forces in Barisal, also attended the program. Sources said the number of voters in BCC areas decreased to 1, 77,819 from 2, 18,925 in last voter list.
