UNO assaulted at brick field
Labourers of a brick kiln assaulted the upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Bheramara upazila in the district when he went to seize wood kept for use in burning brick yesterday.
As UNO Azadur Rahman Mallick ordered police to seize the wood at the brick kiln at Gacherdia of the upazila at about 11:30am, the labourers attacked the UNO physically and pelted police with brickbats, sources said.
The UNO filed a case with Bheramara Police Station accusing brick kiln owner Abdul Alim Swapan.
