Kenya polls rigging

The African nations have not come out of the turmoil of colonial politics. The bad impact of European colonialism is still evident in the tribal-oriented continent. Kenya, mostly known for political stability and peaceful culture of clan groups, has been recently experiencing violence between the arch-foes of Raila Odinga and Mawi Kibaki. Mr. Odinga is leading the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party while Mr. Kibaki has been re-elected for presidency amid the allegation of vote rigging by the European Union observers and other else. The general election conducted on December 27 generated huge public unrest and mayhem among the supporters and activists of the two groups. Media reports say approximately 2.5 million people have been displaced and were seen to look for safe shelters. What Mr. Kibaki had done for winning the polls was provocative and anti-democratic. Even, the electoral board of the country was reportedly loyal to the Kibaki-administration.
